Kiss the Pig is a competition/fundraiser sponsored by Sigma
Alpha Iota, the women's music fraternity on campus. Alma College
faculty and staff volunteer to enter the contest and at the end
of the competition the two contestants who have the most
'points' get to kiss a pig at the Homecoming football game,
Sept. 29th, 2001 during the pre-game festivities.
How the Points work.....
A jar for each contestant will be on a table in Hamilton
Commons the week before Homecoming. To add points to a contestant,
simply add coins to their jar. To take points away, add dollar
bills. Each coin is worth its denomination in points and each bill
is worth negative its denomination (for instance, a dime is worth
10 points, 100 pennies are worth 100 points, and a dollar bill is
-100 points). Is your favorite behind? Add a dollar bill to
someone else's bucket!
Sigma Alpha Iota will be donating money from the proceeds to :
The Red Cross, to aid the victims of the national tragedy on
Sept. 11th, and any remaining funds will be used to host a
professional music seminar to be held later this year, where Alma
College students, faculty, staff, and the Alma community at large
can learn about what opportunities and careers exist for those
involved in music.
