Yearbook (added 11/16/02) This year's yearbook (designed by Alicia Allen and the rest of yearbook committee) took FIRST PLACE at Province Day on November 9th! It will soon be scanned in and viewable from this page! We finally got the trophy (see last year's entry, below)
Ideas sought (added 11/16/02) Your devoted Webmistress is seeking new ideas for the webpage! It will undergo a slight transformation while I am on Christmas break. First, new pictures from spring term or other trips will be added (if you have them, please send them to medicilyndsey@yahoo.com). Also, the "Kiss-the-Pig" page will be changed to be a general fundraising page, which will be accessible from the main page, and each particular fundraiser will have its own page. Also, a "Prospective Members" page is necessary to inform all potential members-in-training about their responsibilities to the chapter and the benefits of membership. I also want to adopt some ideas from other chapters and have some SAI-related games or activities. I also want to incorporate the founders into our page somehow. Also, the way I've designed the entire site is a little weird, so to ease the transition to a new Webmistress, I'm going to change a few things about that, and begin to construct a "how-to" manual to be passed down from Webmistress to Webmistress.
Official Visit (added 11/02/02) Theta Eta will have its annual Official Visit with Melissa Beatty, Alpha B Province Officer, November 23rd and 24th.
Concert (added 11/02/02) The annual fall-term concert is tentatively scheduled for November 24th at 4 PM. Stay tuned for more details!
Alpha Province Day (updated 11/16/02) Alpha Province Day was held on Saturday, November 9 at the Alpha Chapter (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor). Theta Eta will be hosting Province Day in the fall of 2003.
New Members-In-Training! (added 09/30/02) The Xi pledge ceremony was held on Sunday, September 29th. Theta Eta wants to welcome its two newest members-in- training, Reneé Bourgeois and Melissa Riser!
T-shirt Sales (updated 09/23/02) Theta Eta is still selling T-Shirts! These are for Alma College musicians in general, and not just sisters. The shirts say "Alma College Musicians... You wish you were this good" and are black with silver lettering or maroon with cream lettering. For more information, contact treasurer Whitney Hopkins. Theta Eta is also thinking about a new T-shirt design. More details to come later.
New Project for Travel Pictures Page (updated 09/23/02) Currently this website has a travel pictures page which only has pictures from choir tours. The next big project is to get pictures from ALL OVER THE WORLD. That's right. If you have pictures from your spring term or study abroad (it doesn't matter if you left the United States or not), or even just a vacation if it was in an unusual place, please send no more than 4 pictures to the Webmistress, with a clear statement of where you went, WHEN you went; if a spring term, a course name might be helpful too. For each picture, include a caption of what the picture is of (i.e., "Dunn's River Falls, Ocho Rios, Jamaica"). I will make a page for EACH country visited. This is a BIG project, and will take some time to complete, but I think it will be cool to see the finished product, since surfers will be able to literally travel the world with a few clicks. Distinguished members, this means you too!
2002 Website Awards (added 09/23/02) It was announced on September 9th over the listserv that Theta Eta got Honorable Mention in the 2002 college chapter website awards.
Alumnae Email Addresses and Websites Alumnae! If you would like your email address and/or website URL accessible on the Alumnae page, please send an email to the Webmistress with the address and/or URL you want to use.
Mural The mural was hung on the east wall of the chapter room last spring. Theta Eta wants to thank Liz Norton's dad for his help!!
Theta Eta Yearbook The yearbook for the 2001-2002 academic year has been scanned in and can be viewed here. It won 1st place at the Alpha Province Day on November 17, 2001. We're still waiting for the trophy.
Quilt Block Theta Eta was able to design a quilt block for the Alpha Province Quilt, to be displayed at the 2003 National Convention. Lyndsey Lanagan designed and stitched the block, which is shown here. She incorporated the OPO man to remember our chapter's heritage, as well as the thistle to represent Alma College.
Suggestions Theta Eta is always looking for new ideas and suggestions, so feel free to email us at SAI@alma.edu.
