Saturday’s second annual MiCon Gaming and Anime Convention at CMU’s University Center in Mt. Pleasant proved to be a success for the Alma College Okatu and Gamers and all who attended the event.

Sexual awareness forum offers facts and advice about assault on campus

What would you do if you or some-one you know were sexually assaulted? This was the topic of discussion at the One in Four Panel Discussion on Wednesday night. There were five panel members, including Robyn Paige (04), Jeff Snow (05), Diane Crites, Christine Vogel, associate professor of philosophy Dr. Nicholas Dixon and One in Four Walk Across America participant Joe McCarthy. The One in Four presentation on Monday night detailed the walk of McCarthy and three of his friends from Central Michigan University. They walked to raise awareness on sexual assault, their name stemming from the statistic that one in four women are sexually assaulted in their lifetime. This panel discussion highlighted what Alma students can do about it.

There are new slang words used nowadays in Korea including uljjang, momjjang, and the like. These words commonly contain the word jjang. Jjang means stunningly attractive person and it makes new compound words like uljjang, momjjang. Among those compound words derived from jjang, uljjang and momjjang are the most popular words and widely used. Then, what are the uljjang and momjjang? Ul comes from the word ulguel meaning face, so uljjang indicates the person who has excellent and gorgeous appearance. Mom means body and momjjang is also an expression for the person whose body is perfect and desirable.

Alpha Xi Delta give gifts to hospitalized children in annual philanthropic event

The sisters of Alpha Xi Delta re-cently reached out to sick children with stuffed animals for their annual philanthropy event, the Alpha Xi Delta Teddy Bear Drive.
