Sexual assault awareness kicks off with One in Four performance

This week is Sexual Assault Awareness Week. The purpose of the week is to raise awareness of sexual assault on campus and to encourage students to report incidents as they occur. Several events will take place throughout the week to get students involved and to educate them about the risks of sexual assault.
Honors Day celebrates good work and creative initiatives
Alma College continues to pro-mote undergraduate research with this year's Honor’s Day celebration, which will be taking place on April 1. Honor’s Day will once again coincide with Honor’s Convocation, where the winner of the prestigious Barlow Trophy will be announced. Also, a group of students will be announced as winners of this years third annual Ronald O. Kapp Honors Prize.
Alma boasts unpresidented Fulbright Scholarship nominees
This past Friday, six Alma College students discovered that they were recommended for Fulbright Scholar-ships by the United States Fulbright panel.
The recommended students are Marilee Brooks (04)--Finland, Lindsey Dalton (04)--Jamaica, David Hensley (04)--Belgium, Jessica Karbowski (04)--Mauri-tius, Timothy Slade (04)--Benin, and Luke Steinberg (04)--South Korea. The students have a wide range of majors from History, Politi-cal Science, and Foreign Service, to Exercise and Health Science (EHS) and French.
Internet takes a nasty turn towards a medium for cannabalism
We’ve all heard the horror stories about the internet: children preyed upon in chat rooms, body organs sold over online black markets, or even roommates giving local addresses to random cyber sex partners. Yet, Germany has discovered another online culture that some find as threatening (if not more threatening) as the previously mentioned. What is this cyber subculture? Online cannibalism.
